All CCC hand crafted calls are made of only the finest hardwoods, which are air dried for at least 8 years. The inserts are made of Osage Orange (same as hedge or bois d'arc). .It's used because of its superior acoustical nature and extraordinary long term stability. Cocobolo is also used at times.

The standard CCC $75.00 hand crafted duck call comes with a very attractive hand finished locust barrel. In this business, like any business, time is money. The more time I spend designing the surface of the insert, the more ideally the interface with proper operational technique, the more it costs. Consequently, I make duck calls costing from $75.00 up to $200.00 in $25.00 steps. I make all my hand crafted calls on standard lathes and hand finish each one.

Design time involving the functionalism of CCC calls determine the cost. All CCC calls work!! Where each of its design characteristics fall on the various acceptability parameter curves (which represent technically each of the numerous functions of a call) determine how ideally it will interface with proper operational coordination. The amount of correction for deviation from center norm on these curves is the result of the time I have spent on that call. In short, the more time I spend, the better it works and the more it costs. However, as we all know, buying even the very best violin still doesn't make one a concert violinist! I provide calls in low, medium, and high volume in all of the price ranges. BUT, the volume range required for various hunting conditions and acoustical environments has no bearing upon the cost of these calls.

I also make hand-crafted calls in world class competition quality and volume. Four different volume ranges are offered. This class of call is available at $200.00 and $250.00. Again, the cost is not a reflection of volume category, or the wood used in its barrel. The volume level of these calls is generally too loud for the "normal" hunting environment. However, it can be a real "ace in the hole" on VERY windy days or areas where the birds can be seen (and called) at extreme distances. Ducks won't come to calls they can't hear! Conversely, too loud and you'll blow them away. As a result of the extremely versatile nature of this type of call, they can be brought down in volume to about the same level as a mid volume call…IF PROPERLY OPERATED. Every call that I send out is accompanied by information concerning its proper care.

Normally, I stock hand-crafted calls in all price and volume categories. Turn around time on orders is about 2 to 3 days. Be sure to include your shipping address. Please specify what call volume you want, such as: low, medium, or high. Unless otherwise specified the mid volume to loud side of mid volume call design will be sent. It is the most generally applicable volume range for various hunting conditions and acoustical environments.
